Cottontown Road
Product on Backorder
This wine brings a surprise to the drinker as it is the result of a free-run light pressing of Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes from the Cottontown Road vineyard of Burnbrae Vineyards. It has notes of citrus zest from fruits like lemon and lime blended with pear and green apple. On the palate it has a crisp acidity and lively fruit flavors as one would expect from the scents of citrus zest, pear and green apple then finishes with a touch of honeysuckle and a rich creaminess that has just a slight bit of sweetness. Enjoy with seafood and poultry dishes when not just enjoying sipping it on a porch or in front of a fire.

Wow. This is quite possibly the most versatile Virginia wine I have tasted. It does not have the heaviness of a red, but does not have the sweetness of a white. It is light, but incredibly flavorful toward the back of the tongue. I have no idea how Burnbrae achieved this from such a low altitude vineyard and such young wines, but this wine is exquisite.
